Sydney Supanova 2011
at the Dome, in Olympic Park
The Sydney Supanova for 2011, in the Dome at Olympic Park on the 18th & 19th of June, was a massive event. When I went in to set up on the Friday I could see then what a big event it was going to be as tables and booths filled the Dome with barely an inch to spare. There was so much great stuff to look at and buy. And the event also drew crowds to match. Both days had long queues outside before the expo started. And when the doors opened and they flooded in it was a site to see. So many fantastic CosPlay costumes. Sales of DECAY were up showing increased popularity in Sydney. As always I caught up with lots of friends and got to meet lots of great people: fans of DECAY, artists and writers, costume players, and more. Overall it was a great weekend and loads of fun.

Melbourne Supanova 9th & 10th April 2011

Brisbane Supanova, aka BrizzyNova, 1st to 3rd April 2011
The Supanova Expos of Brisbane and Melbourne were both held a week apart in April 2011. They were great fun events, especially Brisbane which was a three day event with bigger crowds than I've seen anywhere else. I met heaps of great people and many new contributors keen to work for DECAY. Some of them appear in the photos here and they all have work coming up soon in future issues of DECAY.

DARK OZ took DECAY on the road to the Armageddon conventions, on the 26th & 27th of February 2011 at the Dome in Sydney's Olympic Park, and then the following weekend (5th & 6th March) at the Royal Adelaide Showgrounds. Both events were great fun, meeting lots of people: DECAY fans, writers and artists, celebrities, cosplayers, etc, and selling lots of copies of DECAY. The fan base is certainly growing, with people happy to finally see such a quality regular ongoing Australian series. DECAY contributor Alister Lockhart was at Sydney drawing sketches, and Dave Heinrich briefly dropped by at Adelaide. Plus there were many other DECAY contributors in artists alley at both Sydney and Adelaide. I was also very lucky to get some celebrity autographs and photos (as seen here).
ARMAGEDDON, SYDNEY 26th/27th February 2011
The surrounding photos give a small glimpse of what the Sydney Armageddon was like. DECAY again sold well, proving popular with the Sydney crowds. The DARK OZ table seemed to be a popular stop for celebrities. A special thanks to those pictured for their support. Many other writers and artists approached the DARK OZ table, keen to contribute to future issues of DECAY. A big thanks to Alister Lockhart (DECAY artist and writer) for spending the weekend at the DARK OZ table along with me (editor - Darren Koziol).

ARMAGEDDON ADELAIDE 5th & 6th March 2011
What a great event. Fantastic crowds, top quality Cosplay, good celebrities, lots of writers and artists, and DECAY sold really, really well, better than any other expo I've been to. DECAY is continually building up a fan base, and every show I go to it sells well. I had so many people coming up to me and saying what a great product DECAY is, and I was surrounded by people in artists alley who have contributed to it. We all got to catch up with each other and get photos and autographs with celebrities. Just look at this sample of surrounding photos.

Cheers, DK
MAD MAX 2, 30th anniversary at Silverton, NSW, from the 14th to the 19th of March, 2011.
A fantastic event, organised by a group of dedicated Mad Max fans. The MAD MAX Museum was keen to have us visit, and the Silverton Hotel put on special function nights for us, including the showing of MAD MAX and MAD MAX 2 on the big screen and a special BBQ dinner for all the fans. It was a great time and I got to meet heaps of great fans. But best of all were the cars and bikes.
